Improving Undergraduate Learner Success

One of the assignments during my Instructional Design grad course was to develop a design document for a lesson. The lesson I chose was to improve undergraduate learner success at the university. My overall lesson was to introduce learners to the Cornell Note-Taking System and provide information on where to gain more study help from the university.

I’ve included my design document for this course below. There is a link in the PDF for the Adobe XD storyboard, and a PDF of the storyboard can be found in my post, Mastering the Cornell Note-Taking System, as that was an individual assignment from the course.

Some of the items the design document includes are:

  • Course Overview
  • Project Goal
  • Research (Learner Analysis)
  • Learning Objectives
  • Terminal and Enabling Objectives
  • Task Analysis
  • Project Plan
  • Instructional Strategies
  • Motivational Strategies
  • Events of Instruction
  • Storyboard Details (and a link to a partial storyboard)
  • Assessment Items
  • Review (from one of my classmates)
